Honorary Service Awards

What are HSAs?

Each year the La Mariposa PTA selects individuals from our school or community to receive an Honorary Service Award (HSA). A unit HSA recognizes an individual who has demonstrated outstanding service to students in our school. They do not have to be a member of the PTA, nor do they need to have children enrolled at our school. (For example, they may be a grandparent who helps in the classroom, or a retired community member that volunteers to tutor students). An HSA nominee can be any member of the community and/or group within our community. The nominee should be someone that is an advocate for all children.

If you know of a person or company who helps the children and our schools throughout Camarillo as a whole, please nominate them for an HSA at the Council Level. There are so many amazing people, organizations and companies that help our children every day. For example, community volunteers or organizations that provide district-wide activities and services like vision screening, book drives, and summer programs. This is a great way to show how much you appreciate them!

HSA recipients receive a framed certificate and are formally recognized at the Camarillo Council of PTAs Awards banquet held each Spring.
