What is a School Tool Box?

Grade level customized, pre-packaged school supplies your child needs to start the school year. Supplies are based on pre-approved lists that are provided by the teachers at La Mariposa and reflect the brands and quantities they have requested for each grade level. They are delivered directly to your child’s classroom on the first day of school. (Not included: $10 donation for art supplies and pictures, SSR books, and backpacks).

How do I know what to order?

When purchasing a Tool Box for your child, remember to select the Tool Box for the grade your child will be in for the upcoming 2018-2019 school year. For example, my child is currently in 1st grade and will be in 2nd grade in the 2018-2019 school year. Therefore, I would purchase a 2nd grade Tool Box.

How do you order and pay?

Online ordering will be available until June 17, 2018. Click here to place an order.


When does my child receive their School Tool Box (school supplies)?

On the first day of school, your child will have their pre-ordered School Tool Box ready and waiting in the classroom for them.


Is this a school fundraiser?

No, this is not a fundraiser for the school, but a hassle-free, convenient service that the La Mariposa PTA provides to its families so that you can avoid the back-to-school crowds and do not have to shop around for each individual item.


What is Project Understanding?

Project Understanding is a non-profit organization serving low-income families in Ventura County. You will have a chance to give back to our community. For only $14, you can purchase school supplies for a student at one of the five Project Understanding Tutoring Centers in Ventura County. These centers service academically at risk students, grades K-8, in low-income areas. The goal of Project Understanding Tutoring Centers is to bring their students to grade level at which time they “graduate” from the program. Even if you decide not to purchase a School Tool Box for your own child, please consider purchasing one for a Project Understanding child.


Are there refunds? Once you order a Tool Box there are NO REFUNDS. Your child’s Tool Box will be delivered to their classroom on the first day of school.
